The AI Industry Day organised by CSIRO’s National AI Centre was an inspiring and insightful event that showcased the remarkable advancements in artificial intelligence from Australian innovators.
The immersive showcase space was a true testament to the breadth and depth of AI solutions being developed right here in Australia. With over 20 local providers demonstrating their offerings, I was able to witness first-hand how these innovations are reshaping businesses and communities across diverse sectors, from healthcare and agriculture to advanced manufacturing.
The comprehensive program featured a series of thought-provoking presentations and panel discussions led by industry experts. Stela SOLAR’s compelling talk on “The Power of Responsible AI for your Business” underscored the importance of ethical and sustainable AI development.
Additionally, the fireside chat with Luiz Pizzato from CommBank, moderated by Donna Forlin, offered valuable insights into the practical implementation of AI transformation within a major organisation.
Two standout sessions for me were Simon Harrison’s presentation on “Solving Injuries at Work with AI” from CSIRO, and the “Building AI into your Business” session by Robert Sibo from Google. These sessions highlighted the immense potential of AI in addressing critical challenges and seamlessly integrating AI into business operations for enhanced efficiency and productivity.
Beyond the educational aspects, the event provided an invaluable opportunity to engage with fellow attendees like Karl Teiermanis, industry leaders, and visionaries who are driving the AI revolution in Australia. The vibrant exchange of ideas and perspectives reinforced the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the AI community.
I must commend the National AI Centre for curating such a comprehensive and engaging event that showcased Australian innovation and fostered a spirit of collaboration and continuous learning. Experiences like these are instrumental in propelling our nation’s AI capabilities forward and positioning us as a global leader in this transformative field.
